Northbound Extended Expedition Cruise
Seattle, WA to Juneau, AK
Day 1
Today we leave Seattle behind. We're a select group of 12 paid passengers and 8 crew. We'll transit the Government Locks and cruise north for Friday harbor. There's time to enjoy town, then it's off to Canada and parts north. We're cruising among the San Juan Islands. Keep a sharp eye for whales and wildlife. Eagles soar overhead. Later today we enter Canada and anchor in the scenic Canadian Gulf Islands. Enjoy a peaceful evening at anchor.

Day 2
Today we visit the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia. Your captain takes you all to a floating pub for lunch: Nanaimo's "Dinghy Dock Pub!" Situated across the bay, tied to an island, it's quite unique. Later today, we cross the Georgia Straits and cruise into Desolation Sound. We anchor tonight by our first waterfall in Teakearne Arm.

Day 3
Destination Campbell River. We cruise the Johnstone Straits today. We'll time our transit of the Seymour Narrows with their swirling currents and large tides. Then we tie up at April Point lodge and marina. Enjoy a restful evening dockside. Tomorrow we continue northbound, cruising to Port Hardy for an evening pier side. Maybe you'll walk to town? Enjoy a cold one at the marina?

Day 4
Today we cross Queen Charlotte Sound and make our way into the northern reaches of the British Columbia Coast. Enjoy the solitude and wildlife in these narrow channels as we make our way to our evening anchorage of Shearwater, BC. You will have a chance to explore this resort community as you take a stroll after dinner.

Days 5, 6 and 7
Cruising day to Green Inlet. We cruise the Fraser Reach northbound past Work Island. A quiet bay tonight in Green Inlet. Perhaps a movie along the way. Lowe Inlet is next. Enjoy this wonderful place with another waterfall to kayak or skiff to. Perhaps the Black Bears will be foraging here. We've seen them before at this wonderful wilderness anchorage. Lowe inlet is another magical place to anchor for the evening. We endeavor to pull up close to the waterfall. We'll send the chef to fish for dinner. There's a great lake that's a short hike thru the brush. Enjoy this wonderful hidden anchorage.

Day 8
Early morning, we weigh anchor for British Columbia's Prince Rupert. We cruise various Bays and inlets early in smooth waters. Arrive in the late afternoon. This is our last Canadian Port. Tomorrow we're bound for Alaska! Some free time this evening to stroll and enjoy dinner on your own in town. There are a number of good restaurants at the top of the pier.

Day 9
Cruise into SE Alaska — Ketchikan! We're underway early for Clarence Strait. Maybe some morning waves in this area. Please listen to the Captain's narrative for the morning ocean forecast. Pull out your passport, we'll have US Customs aboard for our entry. It's a morning cruise to Ketchikan, Alaska. Enjoy time in SE Alaska's Salmon Capitol, with shops, fishing boats and heritage. Take a walk up Creek Street in town and watch the Salmon runs.

Day 10
Today we cruise further north among SE Alaska's pristine waterways and islands. We'll finish our day in Petersburg. A Nordic community with fishing boats, salmon canneries and traditional heritage. Founded by Peter in the early 1900's. Enjoy time in this town. We'll visit the Sons of Norway Hall for a catered dinner by some local folks. A surprise here!

Days 11 and 12
Today we cruise to the Dawes Glacier. Cruise southbound in Stephens Passage. We'll enjoy Endicott Arm in Holkham Bay. It's a relatively short cruising and sightseeing trip to this beautiful and accessible Glacier in Holkam bay. Just at the end of Endicott arm, the "blue ice" forms all around us. The glacier frequently calves this time of year.
Afterwards, we'll peek into a rare treat. Enter one of Alaska greatest secrets, Fords Terror! Revel in the awesome beauty of this rarely visited fjord. There are only a handful of people on the planet that have viewed this area.

Days 13 and 14
We transit various bays and inlets. Visit a quiet community with actual hot springs and hot pools. Enjoy Baranof Warm Springs! Overlook a waterfall as you soak in the private tubs. Other secrets await, as we make our way to Juneau, Alaska.

Northbound Alaska Cruise
Petersburg, AK to Sitka, AK
Day 1
Arrive Petersburg, Alaska. A Fantasy Cruises escort meets your group at the airport and transfers you to town for shopping and lunch on your own. (Your baggage will be transferred to the ship and stowed in guest rooms.) Afternoon activities to include tours of Petersburg Cannery and interpretive Muskeg walk. Later today we enjoy an early dinner at the Sons of Norway hall with entertainment. Board vessel, meet crew, cocktail reception/dinner, and short evening cruise.

Day 2
Whale search and cruise northbound toward our glacier area. Search for humpback whales enroute. Tides permitting, we may visit Five Finger Lighthouse, one of the oldest in Southeast Alaska. Anchor tonight in a quiet wilderness anchorage. Watch for brown bears in this area.

Day 3
This morning, we cruise up to view Dawes Glacier, an active Tidewater glacier in Endicott Arm and Holkam Bay. Enjoy time by the glacier with a great opportunity to see calving and harbor seals with their young pups. Afterwards, we anchor at a local inlet for exploring and kayaking. You might even kayak by an iceberg? The chef's cooking some fresh crab!

Day 4
Today we enter one of Southeast Alaska's most pristine and scenic canyons, Ford's Terror. Known for swirling rapids and sheer cliff faces, this wonderful wilderness area is protected under the Tongass National Forest. We'll invite a U.S. forest service ranger to join us and discuss the spectacular fjord around us. Today we enjoy a majestic place to kayak and explore that very few people even know exist.

Day 5
We depart early this morning, cruising north for a port call in Juneau, Alaska. There's free time here for shopping and time to tour town. Perhaps you'll decide to ride the tram or visit the famous Red Dog Saloon. A map is provided for your use after a brief tour. The crew will walk any interested clients up to the Governor's mansion for a peek. Evening cruise to Barlow Cove. (Sometimes humpback whales swim in this cove.)

Day 6
Cruise this morning in Chatham Strait. We search for Dalls porpoise and Orca whales. Today we enjoy a truly unique Alaskan community, Tenakee Springs. Population 97! There's time to stroll among the waterfront homes, visit the merchantile (founded in 1899) and enjoy a little shopping at the friendly bakery. Chat with some local folks that live in the Alaska few ever see or get a chance to visit!

Day 7
A day of cruising today will take you through many narrow and winding passages. Keep a sharp eye on the shoreline for bear, deer and river otter as we ply these serene and peaceful waterways. Watch the local fishermen troll by or see them hauling in their catch. Our anchorage tonight will be "Captain's Choice."

Day 8
Morning cruise into Sitka, Alaska, a unique community where you can still feel the Russian history and visit the paths of the founders. Afternoon tours to include Raptor Rehabilitation Center and lecture, Totem Park and Sheldon Jackson Museum. Afterwards, shopping time, then back to the ship for Captain's dinner. Slide presentation after dinner for guests. Enjoy your week of memories and take home a gift!

Day 9
Breakfast is served and baggage is transferred to the airport for flights home. Depart from Sitka.

Wilderness Cruise
Juneau, AK to Juneau, AK
Day 1
Arrive Juneau in the morning, transfers to downtown, lunch on own, meet for Alaska State Museum tour after lunch, then meet at boat 5:00 for cocktails and dinner departure. Anchorage this evening is in Taku Harbor. Walk on the beach with our Naturalist.

Day 2
A day of cruising today will take you through many narrow and winding passages. Keep a sharp eye on the shoreline for bear, deer and river otter as we ply these serene and peaceful waterways. Watch the local fishermen troll by or see them hauling in their catch. Our anchorage tonight will be "Captain's Choice."

Day 3
This morning we'll enjoy some leisure time. Brunch is served. We launch kayaks and take advantage of the solitude and serenity of the inlet. Later this afternoon, enjoy Windam Bay, another quiet anchorage. Maybe the local miner will be over to the boat to tell us about the old gold mine? His home is in the bay just across from our anchorage.

Day 4
We will transit Stephens passage and Frederick Sound as we make our way to Petersburg, Alaska. Humpback whales should be the highlight of the day as we watch them feed in these waters. We plan to visit Five Finger Lighthouse, the first manned lighthouse in the region. Later tonight, enjoy a festive meal in the Norwegian community. We will enjoy some local entertainment tonight off ship.

Day 5
Today we venture out to LeConte Glacier. Enjoy a speedy jetboat ride, up and over around the ice. We'll be back this afternoon for cocktail hour and a short cruise to another favorite bay Portage Bay our evening anchorage off Frederick Sound.

Day 6
It's morning cruising today. Watch for Sea Otters in this area. We move West to Baronoff Island. We will visit a place that few know exists and even fewer enjoy: Baranoff Warm Springs. We're off to shore this morning for a walk up to the local lake. On the way, stop for a dip in one of the hot spring pools or just enjoy the beauty of the Muskeg Forest. Or, if you are not up for the hike, you can spend some time in the hot tubs that overlook the fantastic waterfall.

Day 7
Today we cruise north for a special visit to a special wilderness community: Tenakee Springs. Maybe you'll post some mail at the 1902 post office, visit the country store, or enjoy the small bakery. The local residents (only 95 people) spend their summers here to avoid the big ships and big tourist towns. Enjoy this jewel in the wilderness. They welcome us.

Day 8
It's a leisurely morning at anchor. Today we enjoy a cruising day north and around the top of Admiralty Island. Later today, we'll be in Juneau in time for a trip to the Red Dog Saloon.

Southbound Alaska Cruise
Sitka, AK to Petersburg, AK
Day 1
Your morning arrival in Sitka will give you time to shop and get lunch on your own before the tour starts at 1 p.m. Tours include the Alaska Raptor Center, Totem Park and the Sheldon Jackson Museum. Join us aboard the Island Spirit for cocktails following your tour as we depart for our evening anchorage. Enjoy beautiful scenery along the way.

Day 2
Experience more of the great wilderness as we make our way to Baranof Warm Springs Bay. This will be our anchorage for the evening. Take a hike up to the lake and learn about the Muskeg along the way. Later, soak in one of the hot sulphur tubs while enjoying the waterfall view.

Day 3
Today, we cruise north in Chatham Strait for a visit to the small community of Tenakee Springs (population 97). Enjoy a stroll to the bakery and the local mercantile, and visit with locals for an interesting Alaskan afternoon. Tonight, we will anchor in a nearby bay of the Captain's choosing.

Day 4
Heading further north in the Chatham Strait, we watch for humpback whales that frequent this area in the summer months. We may stop along the way to explore a bay or two as we make our way to Barlow Cove.

Days 5 and 6
We get an early start this morning to make port in Juneau by 9 a.m. Enjoy time for shopping before lunch. We depart around noon for Endicott Arm, Dawes Glacier and Fords Terror. We will spend two days exploring this area.

Day 7
Heading south in Stephens Passage, we will again be on the lookout for whales as they feed and play in the local waters. If tides are good, we may have a chance to visit the oldest lighthouse in Southeast Alaska. Our anchorage tonight will be in either Farragut or Portage Bay. Enjoy a beach walk.

Day 8
This morning, we make our way into the fishing community of Petersburg. Here you may have the opportunity to visit a local cannery (fish pending) and get in a little more shopping. Dinner tonight is traditional at the Sons of Norway Hall, complete with entertainment.
