About John Greengo
John Greengo is a life-long resident of Seattle, and not surprisingly a
typical Northwest outdoor adventure lover. He picked up his first camera at
the age of 10, and has since traveled around the world capturing it with his
unique vision.
Starting with a college degree in photography, John has mixed his love of
photography with his enthusiasm for travel and adventure. Documenting his
journeys by bicycle through South America, around Iceland and across Alaska,
was just the start. He quit his job to pursue mountaineering and to kayak
some of the longest rivers in Canada and Alaska.
More recently he's been an integral part of the "Travel's to the Edge" TV
field production team. Working with world famous photographer Art Wolfe,
John and the TV crew have traveled to the far reaches of the planet to
capture the worlds most exotic and beautiful landscapes, wildlife and
culture.
Teaching photography fills the gaps between the major journeys. His classes
are constantly filled and his students claim his courses, with his unique
visual explanations, are the most clear and easy to understand they have
ever encountered.
John's enthusiasm, sense of adventure and love of photography will be an
added benefit to everyone's journey.
